The Community Hot Meal program serves hungry people in Southeast Volusia County. It operates every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Hollister Hall, First United Methodist Church – NSB and on Tuesday and Thursday at Pettis Park.
This program, initiated over a decade ago, serves meals prepared by fourteen area churches and supported by an additional seven churches. The individual churches provide most of the food items for the meals and then prepare and serve them to hungry people in our area. Meal planners are challenged to provide a complete and balanced meal for 100-150 participants for $30, the amount allotted by CCUMC to pay for the meal. This year the program has averaged around 125 dinners per day. CCUMC has two crews which prepare food on the second Monday and third Wednesday of each month.
Donations of fruits and vegetables by Perrine’s Produce are used to supplement the meal. Publix donates excess items prepared by its own bakeries. A CCUMC volunteer picks up these items at the Publix Stores on the beachside and on Route 44 and delivers them to the feeding program every day of the week.

On the second Sunday of each month, you are encouraged to drop you extra change (bills are welcome too) in the large 2 Bits for a Bite jugs at church. This money goes for the support of the program.
