Tutor Time

tutortime

Tutor Time is a local outreach ministry of CCUMC held in conjunction with the Oretha Bell Boys and Girls Club in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Tutors share God’s love through their presence, smiles, compassion and knowledge with elementary students. Boys and Girls Club members represent a wide range of ethnic diversity, academic ability and economic backgrounds. These children share one common need, which is encouragement to reach their full potential. Through tutoring, Tutor Time Tutors make personal connections that say, “ I care about you and I am here to help you do well in school.”
Tutoring occurs after school on Monday and Wednesday at the Boys and Girls Club in New Smyrna, Florida. The club is located at the corner of Milford and Mary Streets. Additional tutors are always needed. You do not need to be a member of CCUMC to participate in tutoring. Tutors need to complete a required background check. For more information, please contact program coordinator, Linda Campbell, at lindacampbell36@gmail.com or 386-424-0237. We would love to have you join our group!

Tutor Time was awarded the 2013 Faith Based Volunteer of the Year Award by the United Way of Volusia and Flagler Counties. This is the 2nd time the program has been recognized in this way.
