Sermon Series: Journey Through The Gospels

The Gospel of Luke is the only gospel written by a gentile. Luke brings another voice and perspective to how we can see and understand the life and impact of Jesus. Today we look at the major themes in Luke’s gospel through the example of an outcast hero. Samaritans were seen as heathens. They had mixed with pagans and contended that the true location of the temple should be in their homeland. Their long lost connection in the past was not strong enough now to overcome the vile and hatred that they showed each other. Jesus choses the most difficult hero for the lawyer to stomach. Who would be the most difficult for you to stomach as hero today?
