Sermon Title:  Baptism of the Lord, Our Baptism, Our Calling

Today we remember the baptism of Jesus as well as our own. Maybe you can remember your baptism or maybe you were too young to remember it personally. Baptism is the mark of a beginning. It is a big change. The beginning of a journey into a new transformed life. When we reduce it to a quick cleaning of our sins it seems like something we should be doing each week. When we allow it to be the once in a life time adoption by God we allow our baptism to steer us towards God. It is meant to be the beginning of a rich relationship not merely a ritual which punches our ticket to Heaven. Today we are reminded that God chooses us and picks us for God’s team.
