SCHOLARSHIPS
Thanks to the generosity of those who have contributed to the endowment over the years, we're honored to be able to provide over $30,000 in scholarships annually.

CORONADO COMMUNITY SCHOLAR
This program was conceived in 1993 as a tangible witness by the church to promote hope and reconciliation at a time when racial mistrust and inequality still existed in the county.
This award is an annual scholarship to a deserving 8th grade student who meets select criteria.
To encourage the personal and academic development of outstanding African American youth in our community and to promote better relations between differing racial communities in south Volusia.

LONGSTREET LIFELONG LEARNING
This scholarship is to assist in funding learning opportunities for adults who are active Coronado Community United Methodist Church members and family (church staff and families included). Funds for this scholarship were made available through an endowment from the Longstreet/Paxton family.

MYHRE-BURT MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship assists in funding the education of deserving young people who desire a career in music or music education. Funds for this scholarship are made available from endowments to honor the memories of Elva Burt, James Flores, Velma Myhre, and Dale E. Rush.

PAXTON SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is:
- to direct CCUMC youth toward service and mission work
- to provide our youth with the opportunity to earn college funds and
- to increase youth involvement in church and church activities
