Pastor Lisa

Reverend Lisa Ann Moss Degrenia

Lead Pastor

Pastor Lisa was born in Tampa, Florida, one of a long line of native Floridians and teachers. She met her beloved Ed on a trip to NYC and they were married ten months later. They are blessed with two grown daughters, two sons-in-love, two dogs, and a brilliant grandchild.

Lisa didn’t grow up attending church and first found God through music. She thought she would be a high school choral director. God had other plans. Lisa received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of South Florida and served as a church music director for six years. Around year 4 of the 6, Lisa heard God calling her to become a pastor. The family refers to this event at the LCD- the life-changing decision. A few months later, Lisa, Ed and their two small daughters left Florida for North Carolina.

In 2000, Lisa received a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School and was later ordained a United Methodist minister in 2003 in the Florida Conference. She’s served congregations in Largo, St. Petersburg, DeBary, Sarasota, and excited to serve alongside the faith-full folks of CCUMC.

In addition to serving as a pastor, Lisa enjoys teaching, photography, theatre, travel, and writing. She is indebted to the many wonderful mentors and teachers in her life, including her mother who first gave her a love for words and adventure.

Reverend Staci Plonsky

Associate Pastor

Rev. Staci Plonsky, a native Floridian, comes from the Melbourne, Florida area. She previously served in United Methodist churches working with children, youth and families, and community outreach. (She also was a childbirth educator and doula for 9 years!)

Pastor Staci is a graduate of Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. She earned her Master of Divinity degree with distinction in 2022. Some of her gifts include creativity, compassion, and teaching.

Pastor Staci married her husband, Terry, in 2000. He is an electrical engineer of heavy-lift rockets. Together, they have three teenaged children: Grace, A.J., Juliette. Their family loves animals and currently raises 1 horse, 2 hens, 2 giant dogs, and 3 cats (not in the parsonage, don’t worry!)

Pastor Staci’s favorite Scripture verse is Romans 8:38-39:

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Pastor Staci enjoys meeting with members of the community as well as active participants in the life of our church.
